Barrister and I started Fuji music together — Kollington Ayinla

According to an interview on Oyinmomo TV on Friday June 19, 2026, Fuji maestro, General Kollington Ayinla revealed on the show that he and his colleague and friend, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (who is late) started Fuji music together.

He stated that while both of them were still in the military, Barrister suggested they both continue singing as they used to do before.

In his words, “While we were still serving in the military, he suggested we should continue singing as we used to.”

He addressed the debate that has been going on for years about who started Fuji music.

He said, “We started Fuji music together but Barrister released a record before me. It is just normal when two people start something, one person would be regarded as the first and the other person would be in the second place. But as of today, I am the only authority in Fuji music, not just in Nigeria but all over the world.”
