Aggrieved APC Members Storm Party Secretariat, Call for Probe, Cancellation of Primaries in Lagos

According to report by Vanguard on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State on Tuesday converged on the party secretariat in Ogba, protesting alleged irregularities in the recently concluded primaries for the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly across several constituencies.

The demonstrators, including aggrieved aspirants, party members and supporters, called on the APC leadership and appeal committees to investigate the elections and overturn what they described as breaches of the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.

The disputed primaries reportedly affected constituencies such as Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency.

Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I, Somolu Constituency II, Alimosho Constituency, Agege Constituency I and Eti-Osa Constituency I.

One petition was submitted by House of Representatives aspirant Ayodele Adebowale Adewale, who challenged the outcome in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

He alleged that the election across 11 wards was flawed due to the absence of an official membership register during accreditation, with voters allegedly verified only through APC slips without proper identification checks.

He further claimed that some of the slips used were unofficial and possibly produced outside approved party structures, urging a full investigation, annulment of the results, and enforcement of proper procedures.

He also presented video evidence of his interaction with officials during the process.
