The Principal of Technical College, Ehor, Mrs Osaretin Enabulele, alongside members of the administrative staff, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, Hon. Austin Imafidon (AKA ISIWINA), to seek the support and intervention of the council in addressing some pressing needs of the institution.
During the visit, the Principal appealed to the Chairman to assist in connecting electricity to the school, help publicize the institution to increase students’ enrollment, clear the overgrown weeds within the school premises, and provide adequate security to safeguard the school environment and facilities.
Responding, Hon. Austin Imafidon appreciated the Principal and management staff for the visit and assured them of the council’s readiness to attend promptly to the requests presented. He stressed the importance of technical and vocational education, noting that skill acquisition remains vital to national development, manpower growth, and economic advancement.
The Chairman further disclosed that vigilante operatives would be deployed to the school to strengthen security, while the council would also undertake the clearing of weeds within the school compound and the issue of electricity he mandated the Works department, Director of General Services, Supervisor for works and the LGA Special Adviser to immediately Access all that is needed to connect electricity to the institution and revert for exco deliberations and approval
Hon. Imafidon, however, pointed out that Technical College, Ehor is not directly under the jurisdiction of the local government council, but emphasized that his administration would not hesitate to provide support because of the strategic importance of the institution to the development of Ehor community and Uhunmwode Local Government Area at large.
The visit ended on a cordial note with appreciation from the school management for the Chairman’s warm reception and positive commitment towards the growth and sustainability of technical education in the locality.
