Obi/Kwankwaso: NDC Questions Yusuf Usman's Public Credibility, Moral Authorities

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has questioned the public credibility and moral authorities Prof. Yusuf Usman, former Nigeria Health Insurance Service official, on public discourse, after his statement discrediting Peter Obi and Rabi'u Musa joint presidential ticket in 2027.

The Office of the National Co-Chair of the NDC Coalition Alliance Network, NDC-CAN, expressed dismay recent comments credited to Prof. Yusuf Usman advising Nigerians not to trust the ticket of Peter Obi and Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso in the buildup to the 2027 general elections.

The National Co-Chair of the NDC Coalition Alliance Network NDC-CAN, Zakari Garba Zakari Burra, in a statement, noted that ordinarily, the party would not have responded to such remarks, but it has become necessary to remind Nigerians that integrity and credibility are earned through transparent public service, not political propaganda or media attacks against opposition figures.

Zakari Garba Zakari Burra declared: "it is unfortunate that individuals with unresolved public credibility concerns continue to position themselves as moral authorities in national discourse.

"Nigerians still remember the controversial issues surrounding negotiations with bandits and terrorists, where certain officials reportedly went into forests to engage criminal elements and returned freely under questionable circumstances.

"These matters remain part of public discourse and deserve honest explanations, not diversionary political statements."

"Furthermore," he maintained, "the Nigerian people have not forgotten the history of EFCC investigations, allegations of looted public funds, and court matters associated with some public officials who now seek to lecture citizens on integrity.

"Those issues remain within public memory and ongoing judicial attention."

As a coalition committed to democratic values, accountability, and national progress, NDC-CAN strongly rejects attempts by paid political agents and desperate actors to mislead or brainwash Nigerians ahead of 2027, he said.

Zakari Garba Zakari Burra, accordingly, declared: "We wish to make it clear that the youths and citizens of this country are more politically conscious, informed, and determined than ever before.

"Nigerians are tired of recycled propaganda, failed leadership, and attempts to suppress the desire for genuine national transformation.

"The NDC Coalition Alliance Network (NDC-CAN) will continue to mobilize citizens lawfully and democratically in defense of good governance, credible leadership, and the future of our nation.

"Nigeria has changed. The people are wiser now, and no amount of propaganda can silence the voice of a determined generation."
