...Says investment in education remains key to future of every society
The All Progressives Congress candidate for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Ondo State, Kayode Ijalana, on Tuesday, commenced an N500,000 educational support for a student of A.U.D. Comprehensive High School, Otapete-Owo, Master Dedeigbo Joshua Oluwatimilehin, following his outstanding performance in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
Ijalana, who announced the scholarship weeks ago, said the support would run throughout the student’s academic journey. He also pledged to present a brand new laptop to Dedeigbo upon his admission into the university.
The process commenced at the school premises in the presence of the school management and students.
Speaking at the event, a representative of Ijalana, Mr Rasheed Temitope, said the gesture was to reward excellence and encourage academic dedication among young people within the federal constituency.
He said, “This is promise made, promise fulfilled. When we heard of Master Dedeigbo’s exceptional UTME result, Ijalana heard of it and had to act. Excellence must not only be applauded; it must be rewarded.
“Investing in our young people is non-negotiable. If we get education right, we secure the future of Owo Kingdom. This is just one of many steps we will continue to take.”
The Principal of the school commended Ijalana for the intervention, noting that it would motivate other students to take their studies seriously.
Dedeigbo, in his remarks, thanked Ijalana for the support and promised to sustain his academic excellence.
