Isolo residents and businesses are set to receive 24/7 electricity following the licensing of Isolo Power Gen Limited by the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC). This move is part of the Lagos State government's initiative to decentralize the power sector and improve reliability in residential and industrial corridors.
The project will develop a 9MW embedded power generation facility and the plant will be situated along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Isolo.
An Independent Electricity Distribution Network (IEDN) license was also granted to Isolo Power Supply Limited for the same area.
It uses embedded generation, which allows power to be produced and distributed locally rather than relying on the national grid.
LASERC plans to launch pilot 24-hour electricity franchise zones by October 2026.
