“I Was Blacklisted and Left Alone” ~ Veteran Actor Roy De Nani Shares Painful Nollywood Journey

Veteran Nollywood actor Roy De Nani has opened up about the difficult moments he has faced in the movie industry and in his personal life.

Speaking on a podcast, he said there was a time in his career when he was secretly blocked from getting acting jobs. According to him, a powerful person in the industry gave an order that producers should stop working with him, making it hard for him to get roles for years.

He also shared a sad personal experience, saying that when his brother died, no actor or actress in Nollywood came to support him or attend the burial.

In another heartbreaking revelation, Roy De Nani said he lost both his son and daughter. He explained that the children were living with sickle cell disorder and needed regular blood transfusions to survive, but he could not afford the medical bills at the time.

He said the lack of money led to their deaths, and he added that Nollywood did not come to his aid during those painful moments.

“I lost my children because I could not pay for their treatment,” he said emotionally.

The actor, however, noted that he is not blaming everyone in the industry, but believes many people were not moved to help him when he needed it most.
