Heavy Rainstorm Destroys Streetlights in Kano Just Four Days After Commissioning

Several newly installed streetlights in Takai and Sumaila Local Government Areas of Kano State have reportedly collapsed after heavy rainfall and strong winds swept through the area.

What has shocked many residents is that the project was commissioned only FOUR days ago. 😳

According to residents, the streetlights could not withstand the wind, raising serious concerns about the quality of the materials and workmanship used for the project.

Many Nigerians are now asking:
❓ Were standard materials used?
❓ Was proper engineering supervision carried out?
❓ Who will be held accountable for the damage and waste of public funds?

Residents are calling on the government and relevant authorities to investigate the incident and ensure quality standards are maintained in public infrastructure projects.

This is not just about streetlights — it’s about accountability, safety, and proper use of taxpayers’ money.
