The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has launched a health evaluation exercise aimed at assessing the mental health and stress levels of police officers across the FCT.
FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, assured officers that the exercise is completely confidential and not meant to punish, stigmatise, or embarrass anyone.
According to him, the programme will become a continuous exercise under his leadership, with regular medical and mental health screenings planned either bimonthly or quarterly.
The CP also revealed that the command is already gathering useful data from the assessments to improve welfare planning and support systems for officers.
The exercise has started with officers under the Metro Area Command and will later extend to Life Camp, Kubwa, Kuje, and other area commands across the FCT.
“Mental health matters, even for those sworn to protect others,” the CP stressed while reaffirming that all individual results will remain strictly confidential.
