A 47-year-old science teacher in Nebraska has been arrested after authorities say he used artificial intelligence to produce more than 400 images of child sexual abuse material involving children ranging from infants to age 12.
Matthew Lund taught at Andersen Middle School in Omaha. Investigators discovered 423 AI-generated images linked to a device associated with his work account, including at least 104 files depicting explicit abuse of prepubescent children.
Lund reportedly admitted to creating the illegal material and viewing it while at school. Officials stated that no students were directly victimized in the case.
He now faces serious charges of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, which could result in up to 50 years in prison.
