Bella Shmurda Opens Up on Going Broke Multiple Times After Fame

Nigerian Afrobeats star Bella Shmurda has revealed that his journey to success came with repeated financial s£tbacks, admitting he went br⁰ke several times despite earning money at the peak of his rise.

Speaking during an interview on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, the Dangbana Republik boss shared that his generosity toward people around him often dra!ned his finances.

“When I blew up and started making money, I went br⁰ke. I’ve been br⁰ke a couple of times because I’m trying to see people around me happy,” he said.

The singer explained that fame brought increased expectations, with many people turning to him for financial support. Wanting to help, he gave freely—sometimes without setting limits—which led to recurring financial stru+ggles.

However, the “Vision 2020” crooner, who gained mainstream attention alongside Olamide, said he has since learned an important life lesson: support isn’t always about money.

“Support doesn’t only come in monetary form. It could be psych0logical or spir!tual,” he added.

Bella also reflected on his early days of success in a separate interview, where he admitted to excessive spending hab!ts. He revealed that he once accommodated a large number of friends, entertained guests frequently, and even purchased multiple cars for appearances—decisions he now describes as l@cking wisdom.

His honesty has sparked widespread reactions online, with many fans relating to the pressure that comes with sudden success—especially the expectation to financially support others.
