2027: Hon. Murphy Picks Up APC Nomination Form at Party Secretariat to Contest Akoko North Federal Constituency Seat

In significant political development, Hon. Murphy today picked up his Nomination and Expression of Interest Form at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat to contest for the House of Representatives seat in Akoko North Federal Constituency.

Speaking shortly after collecting the form, Hon. Murphy stated that his decision was driven by a strong desire to represent his people and address the persistent feelings of marginalization in parts of the constituency.

“My interest is simple to represent my people effectively and ensure that no community is left behind,” he declared.

The aspirant expressed serious concern over the sidelining of several communities, particularly Ogbagi, Irun, Ese, and Afin, saying these areas have been unfairly neglected in terms of development and opportunities.

“What has drawn my interest the most is the continuous marginalization of our people in Ogbagi, Irun, Ese, and Afin. It is high time we had a representative who will fight for equity, justice, and fair distribution of opportunities across the entire constituency,” Hon. Murphy said.

He also highlighted the existing imbalance in political representation within Akoko land, noting that while Ikare Akoko currently produces a Senator, Akoko North Constituency 1 has enjoyed several key appointment positions. According to him, this uneven distribution of political influence has continued to put other communities at a disadvantage.

Hon. Murphy pledged that, if given the mandate, he would provide purposeful and inclusive representation that will ensure every community in Akoko North Federal Constituency receives its fair share of development projects, political appointments, and government attention.

His bold move has already generated positive reactions among stakeholders and residents, who see it as a timely push for balanced development and equitable representation in the federal constituency.
