A massive shipment of KitKat chocolate bars has reportedly been stolen in Europe, raising fears of shortages in stores just before the Easter celebrations.
According to Nestlé, a truck carrying 413,793 units of its new crunchy chocolate range, weighing about 12 tonnes, was hijacked during transit.
In a statement that has sparked reactions online, the company joked:
“We’ve always encouraged people to have a break with KitKat, but it seems thieves took the message too literally.”
The shocking heist could leave many chocolate lovers struggling to find their favourite treats on store shelves in the days leading up to Easter.
This unusual theft has already gone viral, with many social media users calling it one of the “sweetest robberies” ever reported.
