Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has changed the name of the National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP from Barrister Julius Abure to Senator Nenadi Usman on its portal.
This was shared on the official X handle of the former National Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, IPAC, Peter Ameh on Friday, January 30, 2026.
This is coming after the Federal High Court in Abuja sacked Julius Abure as National Chairman of the Labour Party.
According to PUNCH, Justice Peter Lifu ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognize the caretaker committee led by Senator Nenadi Usman pending the conduct of the national convention of the party.
In the post that Peter Ameh shared on his page, Nenadi Usman was recognized as the National Chairman while Senator Darlington Nwokocha was recognized as the National Secretary of the Labour Party.
After sharing the report, Peter Ameh stated that the Labour Party is finally free.
