Hon. Timehin Adelegbe's incompetence has deprived the people of Owo and Ose of a federal presence for nearly a decade. Now, he's sponsoring emergency bills in his final year.
The people of Owo Kingdom are wiser.
For the record, the Federal Government has imposed a nationwide ban on establishing new universities and tertiary institutions. It is, therefore, misleading for Hon. Adelegbe to propose to upgrade Rufus Giwa Polytechnic or create a new Federal College of Innovation, knowing these bills cannot pass, yet he uses them for cheap political propaganda.
In his 7 years in office,he has never Vissited any of the institutions as our representative to see and know the situation.
The same Hon. Adelegbe, who ignored efforts by Kabiyesi, The Olowo of Owo Kingdom and other prominent sons and daughters of Owo Kingdom to convert FMC into a Teaching Hospital, suddenly seeks to appear as a hero of the Federal establishment in Owo Local Government with only a few months left in his tenure.
Likewise, the so-called “Ose State with Owo as capital” bill is merely a political gimmick aimed at gaining sympathy from Owo’s people.
If this idea were genuine, why didn’t it surface in the past seven years? Why now—at the end of his term? More importantly, if Hon. Adelegbe truly cared about Owo’s interests, he would have challenged Hon. Ife Ehindero when he proposed Ikare as the capital of a new state. That was the perfect moment for him to defend Owo, yet he remained silent.
This sudden enthusiasm is not service but a political strategy.
Genuine representation is not demonstrated through last-minute theatrical press releases.
Owo and Ose deserve a leader who consistently shows up, not the one who only remember his constituency when elections or political negotiations are near.
The constituency will no longer be fooled by headlines.
Real work speaks for itself, and the people know those who have truly stood for them in service
