The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a self-proclaimed cleric, Emmanuel Adegoke, for allegedly defrauding a UK-based Nigerian of N47 million under the pretext of purchasing land and building a house in Nigeria.
According to CSP Omolola Odutola, the arrest followed a petition by Mary Abosede, who claimed that between 2013 and 2025, she transferred a total of N47m to Adegoke for the supposed property purchase.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter, highlighting their commitment to tackling financial fraud and protecting citizens from scams perpetrated under false pretenses.
