A renowned Engineer, Elder David Oludele Bankole has emerged the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP.
Elder Bankole who was two term secretary of the party emerged as the flagbearer of SDP for the next year governorship election after two other aspirants, Mr Peter Adesina and Mrs Adesola Dada step down for him.
Declaring Elder Bankole winner of the primary election, Chairman of Ekiti State SDP primary election committee, Mr Gabriel Akinloye commended the sportsmanship of two other aspirants and urged them to work with the candidate of the party to come out victorious during the governorship poll.
Earlier, State Chairman of SDP in Ekiti State, Hon Ayodele Bankole explained that the process of the primary election had commenced three days ago before it was concluded today, saying emergence of Elder Bankole as candidate of SDP was transparent and followed due process in line with the constitution of the party and that of the Country.
In his acceptance speech, the candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP in the forthcoming Governorship election in Ekiti State, Elder Oludele Bankole thanked all the party members for the trust they have in him and promised to justify the trust.
In her submission, the Deputy National Women leader of the party, Hon. Mercy Ilesanmi charged members of the party to go to their various wards and continue mobilsing for SDP ahead of the governorship poll.
The primary election was supervised by INEC’s official, security agents and leaders of the party from the National Front.
