The Zenith Administration of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, JCC Ondo Axis has paid an official courtesy visit to the Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs to the Governor of Ondo State.
The visit was led by the Chairman of the Association, Comr. Abiodun Victor Ayomide.
In a statement made available to newsmen on 2nd November, 2026, with reference number NANS/JCC/ONDO/ZA/014/2026, the Association said the visit was in furtherance of its commitment to constructive engagement, institutional collaboration and advancement of students' welfare.
According to the statement, the visit marked the administration's first official engagement with the Office of the SSA and provided an opportunity to formally introduce the newly elected Executive Council and present its members for official recognition.
The Chairman, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to the SSA for his disposition, accessibility and open-minded approach towards the new administration since its emergence, while acknowledging his willingness to engage with student leadership.
He clarified that the emergence of the Zenith Administration should not be interpreted as the beginning of an adversarial relationship with the state government, adding that the administration is committed to constructive dialogue, responsible representation and purposeful engagement.
The Chairman further reaffirmed the administration's commitment to keeping the Office of the SSA adequately informed on matters concerning students' welfare, emerging concerns and major decisions that may require government attention, emphasizing that dialogue, consultation and mutual understanding would remain central to its approach to resolving issues affecting Nigerian students in Ondo State.
A significant part of the engagement also centred on the forthcoming International Students' Day: EASE Students Festival, a week-long programme initiated by the Office of the SSA to celebrate, engage and appreciate students across Ondo State.
The discussion provided an opportunity to explore areas of collaboration between the SSA's office and NANS JCC Ondo towards ensuring meaningful student participation, effective coordination and a successful celebration.
The Chairman acknowledged the importance of the initiative, noting that programmes of such nature provide platforms for student recognition, talent discovery, intellectual engagement, networking and celebration of contributions of students to societal development.
He expressed the readiness of NANS JCC Ondo to support the initiative and mobilize students across tertiary institutions in the state, while maintaining the need for adequate consultation and inclusive participation of the various student constituencies.
He assured the SSA of his administration's readiness to work collaboratively with his office, stressing that the interests of students must remain above unnecessary institutional disagreements.
The statement noted that the engagement reinforced a shared understanding that student leadership and government engagement should be driven by mutual respect, open communication and a common commitment to students' welfare and development.
The statement was signed by Comr. Abiodun Victor Ayomide, NANS JCC Ondo Chairman, Comr. Elusoji Samuel Temitope, General Secretary, and publicized by Comr. Bamidele Oluwafemi, Public Relations Officer.
