“Racist Attacks Against Me Are Not Going to Work” — Kemi Badenoch Hits Back at Former Farage Adviser

UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has criticised rac!st att@cks directed at her by a former adviser to Nigel Farage, insisting that attempts to use her Nigerian heritage against her will not succeed.

Badenoch made the remarks during an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, following social media posts by Raheem Kassam, a former UKIP adviser, in which he repeatedly described her as a “Nigerian sc@mmer”.

She also criticised former Conservative MP Robert Jenrick, who recently defected to Reform UK, over his refusal to condemn Kassam’s remarks as rac!st.

Responding to the controversy, Badenoch suggested that some Reform UK figures believed att@cking her racial and national background could improve their political standing.

She said:

> “I think it just shows the sort of people they are.”

The Conservative leader also urged former Conservative supporters who had moved to Reform UK to reconsider their political allegiance.

> “I keep telling people that Reform politicians are not like Conservative politicians, and I want the Reform voters who were Conservatives to come home.”

Badenoch accused her political opponents of focusing more on personal att@cks against her than explaining how their policies would improve people's lives.

She said:

> “This is what they’re spending their time on. They’re not talking about how they’re going to make people’s lives better. They’re spending most of their time att@cking me. You’d think that I was the prime minister.”

Badenoch further suggested that her Nigerian heritage had become a target for political att@cks because some opponents believed it could help them gain support.

She maintained that Britain should not be defined by such att@cks and insisted that attempts to use her race against her would fail.

> “I think they think that maybe using my race is a way for them to improve their standing. > > “Britain is not a rac!st country and because it’s not a rac!st country, their rac!st att@cks and using my race as an att@ck form is not going to work.”

Asked about Jenrick's refusal to condemn the remarks, Badenoch said she no longer considered him her responsibility following his departure from the Conservative Party.

> “He’s not one of my MPs. He’s not my problem anymore. He’s Nigel Farage’s problem,” she said.

Kassam, a former adviser to UKIP, published several posts attacking Badenoch over the weekend, repeatedly describing her as a scammer and referencing her Nigerian background.

In one post, he accused her of using her heritage to advance her career when it suited her. In another, he warned people against giving her their credit card and bank account details.

The controversy has renewed discussions about racism in British politics, political rhetoric and the treatment of politicians from ethnic minority backgrounds.
