“God will pun!sh you for 600 years” – Man calls out retailers as Budweiser sells for N650 at Bokku, N1500 in other shops

A Nigerian man has crit!ciz£d some retailers over what he sees as inflated prices, after comparing the cost of Budweiser at Bokku Mart with other stores.

The man, identified on Facebook as Kosi Ugo, said he was surprised to find that a can of the beer reportedly goes for ₦650 at Bokku Mart, while other shops sell it for between ₦1,200 and ₦1,500.

He questioned why some retailers charge much more for the same product, arguing that their operating costs could not entirely justify the disparity.

In his Facebook post, Ugo said the price gap made him wonder why some shops were charging significantly higher for the drink.

He wrote: “Bokku Mart will make you realise that a lot of retailers in Nigeria are just wicked people!

“Bro, I still can’t get over the fact that a can of Budweiser is 650 Naira in Bokku, but this same Budweiser is being sold for between 1200-1500 in other retail shops. Do the math; is that not almost 900 Naira profit untop of a single drink?”

Ugo also pointed out that Bokku Mart equally has running costs, such as rent and staff wages, yet still offers the product at a cheaper rate.

He used this to fault retailers who defend their higher prices by pointing to business expenses.

“Mind you, Bokku is still paying rent ooo! Bokku is still paying staff ooo! This for those other retailers that will come out to justify the reason for their greediness! You people don’t have more operational costs than Bokku, yet they are still thriving and making profit.”

He wrote: “Gain no dey provision, but you’ve been doing it for 15 years. God will pun!sh you for 600 years!”
