Court sacks Hope Uzodinma as Imo West senatorial candidate, Orders INEC to publish Okorocha's name

COURT RULES IN FAVOUR OF ROCHAS OKOROCHA OVER IMO WEST APC SENATORIAL TICKET
The Federal High Court in Abuja has reportedly ruled in favour of former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, in the dispute over the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for Imo West.

According to media reports, the court recognised Okorocha as the winner of the APC senatorial primary held on May 18, 2026, and directed the relevant party authorities to submit his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for publication as the party’s candidate for the January 16, 2027 senatorial election.

The ruling concerns the APC senatorial ticket for Imo West and should not be confused with Governor Hope Uzodimma’s position as Governor of Imo State.

The development marks a significant turn in the political and legal contest over the party’s representation in the Imo West Senatorial District.
