Apostle Sam Adegoke Pamilerin, lead pastor of Elijah Generation Church, has publicly apologised to women he had s£xü@l relationships with before getting married to his wife.
The pastor, popularly known as Mobile-Fire, revealed that he recently stepped away from public ministry and social media to reflect on his past, seek counsel and address issues surrounding his previous conduct.
Pastor acknowledges wrongdoing
In a statement, Pamilerin admitted that although the relationships occurred before his marriage, he believed his actions were wrong and fell short of the standards of holiness, integrity and self-control expected of him as a Christian minister.
He apologised to the women involved for any hurt or harm his actions may have caused.
The pastor also extended his apology to his wife, family, church members, colleagues and others who had placed their trust in him as a spiritual leader.
> “I am not making excuses for what happened or seeking to minimise it because it occurred before my marriage,” he said.
Says he is pursuing repentance and accountability
Pamilerin said his decision to step back was part of an effort to honestly confront his past rather than avoid difficult questions surrounding his conduct.
According to him, he has been seeking God, receiving pastoral and professional counsel and taking deliberate steps towards repentance and accountability.
He also acknowledged that genuine repentance should go beyond words and be reflected in changed conduct and a willingness to remain accountable.
Appeals for prayers
The pastor said he was prepared to accept the consequences of his actions and asked for prayers as he continues the process of confronting his past and making amends where appropriate.
He expressed a desire to approach the situation with humility and courage while allowing what he described as genuine transformation to take place in his life.
His statement has since generated discussions about accountability, repentance, leadership and the standards expected of religious figures.
