2027: Rainbow Coalition Rebrands As Owo/Ose Coalition For Tinubu, Distances Self From Rebel Politicians

The leadership and members of the Rainbow Coalition of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency have announced a change of name to Owo/Ose Coalition for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that the group is determined to mobilise massive grassroots support for the re-election of the President.

The decision was announced during a strategic meeting of the coalition held at the residence of its founder and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Alaba Lad-Ojomo.

Speaking at the meeting, Lad-Ojomo said the coalition was established primarily to mobilise support and votes for President Tinubu in recognition of what he described as the administration’s projects, policies and innovations across the country and within the Owo/Ose constituency.

According to him, the group believes that the President deserves encouragement and continuity to enable him consolidate on the achievements of his administration.

“We see many things that the President is doing in our constituency, including the construction of roads, students’ loans, improved security and quite a number of innovations. We believe that these initiatives should be encouraged and sustained, hence our decision to mobilise support for his re-election,” he said.

Lad-Ojomo recalled that the coalition recently organised a rally attended by representatives from various wards across Owo and Ose Local Government Areas, stressing that the group's original objective had always been clear.

However, he expressed concern over the emergence of other groups bearing similar names in parts of Ondo State but allegedly pursuing different political objectives.

He said the development had created confusion in the political space, particularly following reports that some politicians who lost out in the internal processes of the All Progressives Congress and subsequently moved to other political parties were forming coalitions while claiming to support President Tinubu.

Lad-Ojomo firmly distanced his group from such politicians, declaring that the coalition would not serve as a platform for what he described as “rebels.”

“We are not a coalition of rebels. We don't want people who have been rejected in their political parties in our own coalition group,” he declared.

The former federal lawmaker further clarified that the organisation was established as a grassroots mobilisation platform for President Tinubu's re-election, noting that the majority of its members remain committed members and supporters of the APC.

He said members of the coalition would support the APC candidates across the ballot, from the presidential election down to the State House of Assembly.

“We are strictly for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and most of us are APC members. We will vote for all our candidates, from President to the State House of Assembly,” Lad-Ojomo stated.

Following the confusion generated by similarly named groups, the leadership announced the formal change of name from Rainbow Coalition of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency to Owo/Ose Coalition for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Lad-Ojomo explained that the rebranding was intended to clearly distinguish the organisation from other political groups and eliminate any ambiguity regarding its mission.

He stressed that the change of name would not affect the coalition's fundamental objectives, but would further strengthen its identity and grassroots mobilisation efforts.

According to him, the coalition will continue to mobilise voters across Owo and Ose and expand its activities beyond the federal constituency as part of efforts to secure a decisive victory for President Tinubu at the polls.

He reiterated the group's commitment to political stability, continuity of government programmes and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The meeting was attended by members and representatives of the coalition from across Owo and Ose Local Government Areas, who reaffirmed their commitment to the objectives of the organisation.

Those who attended the strategic meeting included I.D. Filmi; F.O. Bosede; Arokoyu; Friday Odoh; Omotosho Roseline; Prince Chief Asolo J.O.
