Ondo: Report of Meeting with the Chairman and Board Members of the Hospital Management Board

A meeting was held with the Chairman and Board Members of the Hospital Management Board (HMB) to discuss issues concerning the employment, posting, and deployment of newly employed Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs).

During the meeting, the following assurances were given:

The employment of the newly recruited CHEWs by the HMB subsists and remains valid.

The postings of the newly employed CHEWs remain valid and should be respected accordingly.

Newly employed CHEWs are expected to report to and resume their respective duty posts as indicated in their posting letters.

Any CHEW who experiences harassment, intimidation, obstruction, or any form of interference in the course of carrying out their lawful duties should formally report the matter in writing to the HMB for appropriate action.

All newly employed CHEWs are encouraged to remain professional, respectful, and committed to their duties while adhering to the rules and regulations of their respective facilities.

CHEWs should avoid unnecessary confrontations and ensure that any disagreement or challenge is channelled through the appropriate administrative process.

The HMB reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the newly employed CHEWs are allowed to perform their lawful responsibilities at their designated duty posts.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with the assurance that the concerns raised would be given the necessary attention and that all parties should work together to maintain peace, professionalism, and effective service delivery.
