“I used it to support the orphanage” — Lady reveals what unemployed friend did with N400k raised for her rent

A woman described how she threw a jobless friend out of her house after learning that the money their friend group had donated for her maintenance and rent had been misappropriated.

The woman claimed that her friend had been unemployed for a considerable amount of time since a number of jobs that were set up for her were either deemed to be against her religious beliefs or to fall short of her expectations.

She claimed that in spite of this, she and other people in their social circle kept helping the woman out financially and eventually started a WhatsApp group with the express purpose of raising money for her lodging.

The woman revealed that the organization had successfully gathered ₦400,000, of which ₦100,000 would be used for the unemployed woman's personal costs and ₦300,000 for house rent.

But a month or so later, the friend showed up at her house without warning with multiple suitcases.

According to the narrator, she first got concerned and let her inside before enquiring as to what had transpired.

According to her, the friend replied, “The money you guys contributed for me, I used it to support the orphanage and gave part of it to complete a project in church”

The woman claimed that she did not let her friend continue explaining herself, indicating that the news did not set well with her.

She claimed that as soon as she discovered what had happened to the funds gathered for her lodging, she threw her out of the house.

Financial limits, accountability, and whether funds donated for a particular purpose should be diverted without the donors' consent have all been brought to light by the account.
