2027: Gbenga Falaiye Launches Ondo Central Senate Bid, Vows New Voice and Direction

As the political landscape continues to take shape ahead of the 2027 general elections, the NDC Senatorial Candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District, Gbenga Falaiye, has declared his commitment to bringing a new voice, a new direction and a new era of purposeful representation to the district.

Falaiye, in his message to the people of Ondo Central, said his decision to contest for the Senate is driven by a strong desire to provide responsible, accessible and people centred representation.

He maintained that the time has come for leadership that listens to the people, understands their challenges and places their welfare and aspirations at the centre of legislative responsibilities.

According to him, representation should not be limited to occupying a political office or participating in legislative proceedings. It must translate into tangible benefits for the people through effective advocacy, quality legislation, meaningful oversight and deliberate efforts to attract development to the communities being represented.

Falaiye said Ondo Central is blessed with hardworking, talented and resourceful people whose potential can be unlocked through the right policies, opportunities and supportive government interventions.

He expressed his determination to use the platform available to a senator to advocate for initiatives capable of improving the lives of residents across the district.

A major focus of his political agenda is youth empowerment, Falaiye believes the future of Ondo Central depends significantly on the ability to provide young people with access to quality education, skills development, entrepreneurship opportunities, employment and platforms where they can contribute meaningfully to society.

He also emphasised the importance of strengthening local communities and empowering ordinary citizens. According to him, sustainable development cannot be achieved when communities and individuals are excluded from the decision making process.

He therefore intends to promote policies and programmes that will support grassroots development and create opportunities for people across the senatorial district.

Falaiye further stressed the need for accountability and transparency in public service. He said elected representatives must remain answerable to the people and should regularly communicate their activities, achievements and legislative interventions to their constituents.

For him, effective representation requires humility, accessibility and a genuine understanding of the responsibilities that come with public office. He is therefore presenting himself to the people as a candidate prepared to listen, engage and work with communities to identify their priorities and pursue practical solutions.

The NDC candidate also called for unity among the people of Ondo Central, stressing that political differences should not become barriers to collective development. He said the district can achieve more when its people work together and place the common interest above personal and partisan considerations.

Falaiye's campaign is consequently built around the belief that politics should be about service and not self interest. He is seeking the support, trust and mandate of the people of Ondo Central to represent them at the National Assembly and contribute to legislation and policies that will improve the quality of life across the district.

He urged residents to carefully consider the quality of representation they desire and to support a candidate with the commitment, courage and vision to stand firmly for their interests.

As the 2027 political season approaches, Falaiye is positioning his candidacy as an opportunity for the people of Ondo Central to embrace a different approach to political representation, one founded on listening, accountability, empowerment, community development and purposeful service.

He called on youths, women, community leaders, professionals, farmers, entrepreneurs, workers, students and other residents of Ondo Central to join him in building a movement for positive change.

For Falaiye, the journey is not simply about winning an election. It is about building a stronger partnership between the people and their representative, creating opportunities for the younger generation and ensuring that the interests of Ondo Central receive effective representation at the national level.

He is therefore asking the people of Ondo Central to believe in the possibility of a better future and to give him their support as he seeks the NDC ticket and ultimately the mandate to serve as their senator.
