“Why are you telling me” - Lady cries out, displays amount mistakenly transferred to her Opay account


A Nigerian woman created a stir online by displaying the money that was inadvertently paid to her Opay account.

The woman revealed in an X post that she was approached by the sender after ₦1.1 million was inadvertently sent to her account.

The woman shared a screenshot showing that the incorrect transfer happened on Monday, August 16, 2025.

In the meantime, the sender demanded a reimbursement to a different bank account, which led to an unforeseen circumstance.

‎”I mistakenly sent 1. 1 million Naira to your opay account, kindly send it to this account for me“, The text reads.

However, she sought clarification from the sender about refunding to another account, stating, “Why are you telling me to send it to another bank instead of the bank you used. I’m sorry,I can’t send it back”.

Users on the X platform have responded to the tweet in the interim.
