VDM stated that he intentionally cut off communication with the music star because he felt Peter was attempting to "use" him and his massive online platform to advance a personal agenda against his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye.
Speaking in a video shared across his social media handles, VeryDarkMan dismissed claims that Peter Okoye merely confided in him as a friend, insisting that the singer approached him because of his influence and position on social media. To back up his claims, VDM released screenshots of what appeared to be several missed calls and unreplied text messages from the singer.
According to him, Peter travelled from Lagos to Abuja to meet him because he wanted him to use his platform to call out his brothers or publicly support his side of the dispute.
“Peter Okoye came to me for one reason,” he said, adding that he later discovered that he felt the singer wanted to use him to advance his own agenda.
VeryDarkMan said this was why he stopped answering Peter’s calls, stressing that he does not seek validation from people and would not allow anyone to manipulate him. He also warned public figures against approaching him with false information under the guise of seeking his advice.
“I don’t do lies,” he said, insisting that he would stand by what he believes to be the truth even if it means standing alone. He further accused Peter of making claims against his brothers without sufficient evidence and attempting to influence public opinion after the court did not rule in his favour.
VeryDarkMan maintained that there was a reason Peter chose to approach him instead of the many other people with platforms on social media.
Defending his decision to ghost the singer, VDM asserted, "I don't do lies". He emphasized that he refuses to be manipulated by public figures seeking validation or social media leverage.
