FUTA Appoints Prof. Adeoluwa as Acting Dean, School Of Science And Technology Education

 
The Federal University of Technology, Akure has taken another significant step in strengthening its academic structure with the establishment of the School of Science and Technology Education (SSTE) and the appointment of renowned educational technologist, Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, as its pioneer Acting Dean.
The appointment, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, took effect from August 1, 2026.

Professor Adeoluwa, an accomplished scholar in Educational Technology, brings to the new role over three decades of teaching, research and academic administration. A native of Ado-Ekiti, he holds degrees in History Education, Educational Technology, Advertising, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. He became a Professor in 2009 and has established himself as one of Nigeria's leading academics in educational technology.

With 75 scholarly publications, supervision of 20 Ph.D. and 22 Master's degree graduates, and service as an external examiner to 12 universities, including the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Professor Adeoluwa has made remarkable contributions to scholarship and the development of higher education.
His administrative experience is equally extensive. He has served on more than 90 university boards and committees, chaired 45 of them, and held several strategic positions, including Head of Department, Sub-Dean, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), during which he acted as Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University in September 2015. He also served as Provost of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, before becoming the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, in January 2021.

The University Management expresses confidence in Professor Adeoluwa's vast experience and leadership capacity, charging him to provide quality leadership, mentor academic and administrative staff, foster teamwork, and ensure broad participation in initiatives that will advance the newly established School.
Management further urges the Acting Dean to discharge his responsibilities with commitment, diligence and dedication while working closely with the Vice-Chancellor to uphold academic excellence and strengthen collaboration within the School and the University community.

As Acting Dean, Professor Adeoluwa becomes a member of the University's Management and is expected to contribute to the peace, harmony and continued progress of the institution.
The creation of the School of Science and Technology Education represents another milestone in FUTA's commitment to expanding its academic frontiers and enhancing teacher education in science and technology. With Professor Adeoluwa's wealth of academic, administrative and leadership experience, the University is poised to lay a strong foundation for the growth and success of its newest School.
