Europa League qualifiers: Ndidi returns to Besiktas training ahead of crucial clash

Wilfred Ndidi, the captain of the Super Eagles, has returned to training with Besiktas ahead of the team's match against Hradec Kralove of the Czech Republic in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round.

In order to confirm the Nigerian midfielder's return, the Turkish powerhouses shared pictures from their most recent training session, in which Ndidi participated with his colleagues as they continued to get ready for the pivotal European match.

Due to an ankle ligament injury he suffered before to the first leg, Ndidi was unable to participate in Besiktas' second qualifying round triumph over FC Midtjylland of Denmark.

Besiktas easily advanced with a 3-0 aggregate victory to secure their spot in the third qualifying round despite the 28-year-old being sidelined for both games against Midtjylland.

His return to training is a welcome relief for head coach Vincenzo Italiano, who may have access to one of his most seasoned players once more as the Turkish team pursues their goal of making it to the Europa League group stage.

Ndidi has returned to full squad training, but after being sidelined for a while, it is still unknown if he will be healthy enough to start against Hradec Kralove.

Ndidi has grown to be a crucial member of Besiktas' midfield since joining the team last summer, contributing leadership, experience, and defensive stability.

During the 2025–26 season, the Super Eagles captain also contributed to the offensive, scoring two goals and providing one assist in 31 Turkish Super Lig games.

Ndidi will be looking to restore full match sharpness and compete for a spot in Italiano's squad as Besiktas gets ready for another important European assignment. The Black Eagles want to get closer to the Europa League league phase.
