African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has urged Nigeria to urgently embrace artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, warning that the country could be left behind if it fails to adapt to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He made the call while unveiling key aspects of his proposed 2027 policy agenda.
Sowore said his vision is to deploy AI, blockchain, robotics, drones, and other advanced technologies to modernise governance, strengthen national security, improve public services, and eliminate corruption. He argued that Nigeria must shift from dependence on outdated systems and invest heavily in innovation, digital infrastructure, and technology-driven education to remain globally competitive.
According to him, countries that fail to embrace AI and technological innovation risk losing economic opportunities and global relevance. He called on government, businesses, and educational institutions to prepare young Nigerians for a future driven by digital transformation and innovation.
