Former Brazil international Dani Alves has reflected on his time in prison, saying he experienced greater peace earning just €113 cleaning than he did while making millions during his football career.
Speaking during a church service in Guatemala, the former footballer shared how his time behind bars transformed his perspective on life and strengthened his faith.
“I was earning millions of euros, thanks to God and to football, but in prison, earning 113 euros, I was happier than when earning millions. Before, I was playing football and now I was in prison cleaning the house, but I had my Father (God) with me. What are millions of euros worth without a father?” he said.
According to Alves, his experience taught him that peace, purpose, and faith are more valuable than wealth, adding that his relationship with God gave him a sense of fulfillment that money never could.
His remarks have sparked conversations online about the meaning of success, happiness, and the role of faith during life’s most difficult moments.
