Afrobeats superstar Davido has encouraged aspiring musicians to stay grounded in their faith even after achieving fame, stressing that the entertainment industry is filled with distractions that can pull them away from God.
In a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the singer emphasised the importance of hard work and self-belief, but also warned that success should not lead to forgetting one's spiritual foundation.
His remarks come at a time when several celebrities, especially Christians, have openly admitted to drifting away from church after rising to stardom.
"My advice for up-and-coming artistes is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me," he said.
He added: "Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here."
