The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has warned candidates who made the final list of its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise that failure to complete all required documentation within the stipulated timeline will lead to disqualification and forfeiture of their provisional offers of appointment.
The warning followed the release of the final list of successful candidates for appointment into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II). The Service announced that the next phase of the recruitment process will commence on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the National Public Relations Officer of the Service, Assistant Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, who urged all successful candidates to strictly comply with every stage of the recruitment process.
According to Maiwada, shortlisted applicants are expected to visit the official Nigeria Customs Service recruitment portal or check selected national newspapers to confirm their recruitment status. He added that successful candidates would also receive notifications through their registered email addresses and SMS.
He explained that the portal for uploading Medical Certificates of Fitness obtained from government-recognised hospitals would be activated on Wednesday, July 29, and remain open for one week. Candidates are required to log into the recruitment portal using either their National Identification Number (NIN) or registered email address to complete the upload.
In addition to submitting their medical certificates, successful applicants have been directed to update their current state of residence on the recruitment portal and formally accept their provisional offers by clicking the “Accept Offer” button.
“The Service wishes to inform all successful candidates that the portal link for the upload of the Medical Certificates of Fitness will be activated on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. Candidates are required to complete the upload process within one week from the date of activation of the portal,” the statement said.
Maiwada stressed that failure to upload the required medical certificate, update personal information or complete any of the mandatory procedures within the specified period would automatically result in disqualification from the recruitment exercise and the loss of the provisional appointment.
He further disclosed that candidates who successfully complete the online documentation would be issued a Trainee Identification Number within one week after the process.
The Customs spokesman also said details of the next phase of the recruitment exercise, including documentation, physical screening, dates, venues and other requirements, would be communicated through the Service’s official communication channels.
He advised successful candidates to pay close attention to all instructions and avoid dealing with unauthorized persons or unofficial platforms, stressing that strict compliance with the recruitment guidelines remains a key condition for final enlistment into the Nigeria Customs Service.
