Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has declared he won’t join the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, as his rigging machine, likening him to a bandit kingpin known as “Kachalla,” following his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Lawal made the remark in a post on his Facebook page, where he announced his withdrawal from the party, alleging that its recently concluded primaries were manipulated in favour of Abubakar.
He claimed the party’s internal elections were compromised across all levels.
“Concluded primaries were at all levels massively rigged in favour of Kachalla Abubakar Atiku,” he wrote.
“I do not intend to be part of Kachalla Atiku’s rigging machine in the 2027 general elections.
“For me, working for Kachalla Atiku means giving Tinubu an automatic ticket to a second term, which gives me nightmares.”
Lawal further stated that he would return to his village to focus on farming, while consulting with political associates on strategies to prevent Atiku’s emergence as president in 2027.
