365 Students expelled at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic over Massive Fake Result Scandal

A dramatic academic purge has hit Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta after authorities confirmed the expulsion of 365 Higher National Diploma students caught in a sweeping admission fraud scandal.

The institution disclosed that the affected students were discovered during a detailed verification exercise that exposed widespread use of fake National Diploma certificates and forged academic transcripts used to secure admission into various programmes.

School authorities described the exercise as part of a tightening effort to clean up the system and reinforce its strict zero-tolerance policy on academic misconduct and credential fraud.

FACULTIES MOST AFFECTED

The expulsions cut across several schools within the polytechnic:

School of Communication and Information Technology: 156 students
School of Business and Management Studies: 117 students
School of Science and Technology: 54 students
School of Engineering: 36 students
School of Environmental Studies: 2 students

The Rector, Dr. Koye Jolaoso, issued a stern warning to admission seekers, stressing that the institution will continue to enforce rigorous screening processes to protect its academic reputation.

The development has sent shockwaves through the campus community, raising fresh concerns about the extent of document fraud in tertiary admissions before the crackdown.
