AGBOR — There was widespread jubilation today, May 29, 2026, as Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh won the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election held at the party secretariat.
Expressing her gratitude to voters and party faithful, Ogor Tony-Obuh noted that she was fully prepared to strengthen and grow the party ahead of the general elections.
She emphasized that her top priority is to provide a strong and formidable voice for her constituency come 2027.
Ogor Tony-Obuh secured a landslide victory, pulling roughly 300 votes to defeat her closest rivals, who scored approximately 120 and the other, Mr. Eugene Orewa about 80 votes
She remarked that the massive support from party members was a testament to their shared vision, adding that she is confident this momentum will be reciprocated when she is officially elected to the Delta State House of Assembly in 2027.
Speaking immediately after the conclusion of the polls, Mr. Paul Etumudor praised the outcome, stating that Mrs. Ogor is the best candidate to represent the party given her proven capacity and compassionate leadership.
While residents of Agbor and party stakeholders await the official declaration of the results, observers noted that the election was peaceful, orderly, and entirely free of rancor.
In related developments, primary elections were also held for the House of Representatives, alongside the gubernatorial primaries featuring Engr. Bawo, Nwanne, and Chris Okafor as winners
