A Nigerian woman has expressed frustration over what she describes as unusually fast depletion of mobile data subscriptions, accusing telecommunications providers of overcharging in practice through rapid data usage.
In her account, she said she purchased a ₦15,000 data bundle containing over 30GB, which she claims lasted only a few days. She further noted that a subsequent ₦3,500 subscription was exhausted within 24 hours, leaving her confused and angry about the rate of consumption
She said
I’m pissed. Telecommunications companies in Nigeria are extørting us, they are broad daylight anini. Last week, I bought data worth ₦15,000 (over 30GB), and it didn’t even last a few days. On Monday, I subscribed with ₦3,500, and it was finished the next day.”
