The journey has officially begun. Artemis ll flight path 10-day, 685,000-mile trip around the Moon

Artemis II is now on a 10-day, 685,000-mile journey around the Moon.

After a successful launch, four astronauts are traveling to the Moon. They will follow a wide arc that will carry them far around the Moon and back to Earth.

It’s the first time humans have taken this kind of deep-space path in over 50 years.

This mission is about proving everything works with a crew onboard, setting the stage for the first Moon landing in half a century, which will follow shortly after Artemis II returns home — if the mission proves successful.
