Former senator Shehu Sani has reacted to recent comments by Peter Obi about the future of his political ambition within the African Democratic Congress.
Obi, who joined the ADC after leaving the Labour Party ahead of the 2027 elections, has been pushing for internal reforms within the party.
He made it clear during an interview on Arise TV that he would not remain in the party if its presidential primaries become driven by money or backdoor deals instead of fairness and transparency.
Reacting to this via X, Sani pointed out that Nigeria’s political system has long been influenced by delegates who often determine party candidates.
He suggested that, in reality, delegates across both ruling and opposition parties tend to act in similar ways, making it difficult to completely avoid financial influence during primaries.
