The students of the School of Nursing at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State, took to the streets on March 10, 2026, in a peaceful pr○test against a massive increase in their school fees.
The fees were hiked from ₦90,000 to ₦580,000, an increase of over 500%, following a memo issued by the institution's management earlier in the year.
Protesters carried placards and chanted slogans such as “We no go gree” and demands to reduce or reverse the fees, describing the hike as burdensome for students and their families amid Nigeria's tough economic conditions.
