A Nigerian lady recently shared her surprising encounter with a man who approached her to exchange contact details.
According to her, the man walked up confidently and asked for her number. After chatting for a while and hitting it off, they decided to grab some ice cream together.
Things took an unexpected turn at the ice cream spot. She experienced network issues on her phone and couldn't make a mobile transfer to pay for hers. She naturally assumed the man, who had initiated the approach and suggested getting ice cream, would cover both since it was such a small amount and part of their casual hangout.
Instead, he calmly paid only for his own ice cream and left hers unpaid. She was shocked and disappointed by his lack of basic courtesy gesture, especially given the low cost and the context of him pursuing her contact.
Feeling turned off by the red flag, she immediately blocked his number and deleted his contact once she got the chance.
Many people online agreed with her decision, viewing it as a clear sign of stinginess or lack of interest in impressing her, even at the earliest stage.
