When I Contacted APC Director to Buy Forms, They Said It Has Been Handed to Their 30 Gov's - Shinkafi

Sani Shinkafi, the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, has accused the party’s national leadership of allowing state governors to dominate internal party processes, claiming that key nomination forms for party positions have been placed under the control of governors.

Shinkafi made the allegation in a video posted by Symphoni, where he expressed frustration over what he described as exclusion, manipulation, and undue influence within the APC structure, particularly in Zamfara State.

He recalled how he was allegedly sidelined during the party’s electronic membership revalidation exercise, despite joining the APC before Governor Bello Matawalle.

Shinkafi further alleged that the APC’s internal preparations for congresses and its national convention are being undermined by the handing over of nomination forms to governors rather than allowing open access to party members.

He said he reached out to the APC’s Director of Organization to obtain forms for his supporters across Zamfara’s wards and local governments who intended to contest party positions but was given a surprising response.

According to him, "The party national leadership, or the national working committee of the APC, made an advertorial on the time and schedule of activities for the national convention, state congresses, ward congresses, and also local government congresses and advertised themselves with forms for ward delegates and national delegates for the national convention. When I contacted the director of the organization and said that I wanted to buy forms for some of my supporters across the 14 local governments and across the 147 wards who want to aspire to some elected positions in the party, they said the forms are being handed over to ministers, and in every state where they have governors, APC has 30 governors, and the form has been handed over to the governors."
