Former England star Wayne Rooney has said that Mohamed Salah’s best days in football may be coming to an end.
Rooney said this while speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, after watching the Liverpool forward play at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
According to Rooney, Salah is no longer as fast and sharp as he used to be. He explained that this is normal for every player as they get older, not because Salah is a bad player.
Rooney said Salah’s peak years will likely end this summer, when the current season finishes.
Despite this, Rooney praised the Egyptian star, saying Salah’s impact at Liverpool and in the Premier League has been outstanding.
He added that Salah will always be remembered as one of the greatest players in Premier League history, even though his form has dropped recently.
