An American man has stirred major conversation online after sharing what he called a frǔstrating experience while traveling through Nigeria.
In a video posted on X by @AsakyGRN, he claimed that from the moment he arrived to when he was leaving, different officials kept asking him for “something small.”
According to him:
“Nigerians, is your entire country set up to extort people? Coming in and out of the airport I was told, ‘Now you give me cash,’ at least ten times.”
But he didn’t stop there—he also alleged that many police checkpoints on the road weren’t really for security but for “shake-downs.”
His words:
“Are these security checkpoints or just places to ask for money?”
The video instantly sparked mixed reactions across social media:
