The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stern spiritual and political warning to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, cautioning him against engaging in a direct confrontation with former governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Primate Ayodele made the remarks in a video shared on his official Facebook page, where he claimed to have received divine insight concerning the ongoing political tension in Rivers State. The outspoken cleric urged Governor Fubara to embrace humility, patience, and restraint, warning that a head-on political battle with Wike could be damaging to his future.
According to Ayodele, the political structure in Rivers State remains deeply complex and heavily influenced by long-established power networks. He noted that Wike, having governed the state for eight years and now occupying a powerful federal position, still commands significant political influence that should not be underestimated.
“Fubara cannot fight Wike,” Ayodele declared. “Let him go one million times. Let all the NPCs stand by him. They will make him lose.” The cleric suggested that even overwhelming support from political allies or influential groups would not guarantee victory for the governor if he chooses confrontation over caution.
Ayodele explained that political strength is not always determined by visible support or numerical advantage. He warned that relying solely on endorsements, alliances, or public sympathy could backfire, especially when opposing an entrenched political figure with deep-rooted structures across the state and beyond.
The prophet advised Governor Fubara to redirect his focus toward governance rather than political warfare. According to him, delivering on developmental promises and maintaining a calm disposition would earn the governor long-term public trust, while aggressive political engagement could distract from his mandate.
Ayodele further cautioned against pride and overconfidence, describing them as common pitfalls for leaders navigating turbulent political environments. He stressed that many leaders lose ground not because they lack support, but because they underestimate their opponents and overestimate their own leverage.
“You either humble yourself for Wike and let Wike do his ways, and leave the rest for God,” the cleric added, suggesting that spiritual patience and strategic restraint would ultimately work in Fubara’s favor.
The warning comes amid ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, including impeachment threats and divisions within the State House of Assembly. These developments have heightened national attention on the relationship between Fubara and Wike, once close political allies whose relationship has since deteriorated.
Primate Ayodele, known for making prophetic declarations about political figures and national events, said his message was not meant to take sides but to caution against decisions that could lead to irreversible political damage. He urged Governor Fubara to learn from political history, where prolonged power struggles often weaken governance and destabilize states.
