The White House has confirmed that the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) Carrier Strike Group is heading toward the Middle East as regional tensions rise.
Footage from Jan. 23, 2026 shows flight operations with F-35C Lightning II and F/A-18 Super Hornet jets as the fleet transits toward the Gulf.
President Donald Trump called the deployment a “massive fleet” and a “precautionary move,” citing unrest in Iran and concerns over its nuclear program.
The strike group includes;
USS Abraham Lincoln (aircraft carrier)
USS Mobile Bay (guided-missile cruiser)
Several US Navy destroyers
The fleet is expected to arrive in the Arabian Sea or Gulf of Oman in the coming days.
