The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expelled six students following the outcome of its Students’ Disciplinary Committee sitting, SDC CCXXVII, over cases of misconduct and examination malpractice.
In an official disciplinary notice released by the institution, the management said the decision was taken after a thorough review of the cases brought before the committee.
According to the notice, three students were expelled for acts of misconduct. They are Abdulhafeez Abdulraheem of the Department of Education Technology, Falusi Doris Comfort from the Department of History and International Studies, and Lawal Sorminat Olutosin of the Department of Health Education.
Another three students were shown the way out for examination malpractice. They include Mohammed Qozeem Abdulateef of the Centre for Open and Distance Learning, as well as Stanislaus Divine Tuesusimi and Matthew Esther Ajuma, both from the Department of Human Kinetics.
The University directed all the affected students to immediately stay away from the campus and hand over any University property in their possession to the Dean, Student Affairs.
Reaffirming its stance, the management warned that the institution operates a strict zero-tolerance policy on misconduct and examination malpractice.
“Students are expected to comply strictly with examination regulations, uphold discipline and academic integrity, and protect the image and core values of the University at all times,” the notice stated.
UNILORIN further advised students to shun all forms of examination malpractice, stressing that anyone found guilty would face severe disciplinary action without exception.
