Popular cleric, Pastor Humble Okoro, has stirred reactions online with a strong message to the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their crucial semi-final match.
According to the pastor, the game is more than football, describing it as a matter of national pride and revenge. He warned the players not to rely only on their football skills but to depend on God for victory.
Pastor Okoro recalled how the Super Falcons defeated Morocco in 2025, claiming the match had spiritual dimensions. He said he sensed spiritual activities around the Moroccan team and urged Nigerians to take the match seriously on a spiritual level.
He also mentioned late Coach Stephen Keshi, saying the coach once used prayers before Nigeria won the 2013 AFCON, stressing that inviting God into the game made a difference.
The cleric called on the Super Eagles coach and players to pray, make vows to God, and seek spiritual support ahead of the match. He encouraged Nigerians to fast and pray for the team, adding that football unites the country and Nigerians should not be left heartbroken.
