A tragic incident has been reported in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, where an IBBUL student allegedly took his own life over a house rent matter about #600,000
According to reports, the student, who is from Suleja, was serving as a caretaker of the lodge where he was living.
He was entrusted with collecting rent from tenants, but allegedly used the money to gamble.
When the lodge owner later demanded the rent, the student was unable to produce the money.
Sources say the pressure from the demand led the student to take his own life by hanging himself inside a room.
A handwritten note was reportedly found at the scene. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident further.
